Select Board · Meeting of June 10, 2026
Southbridge's Joint Planning and Development Subcommittee voted 5-0 on all items Wednesday, forwarding five board appointments and two financial housekeeping measures to the full Town Council. Chair John Daniel presided over unanimous recommendations covering Kevin Buxton's return to the Conservation Commission, Cassandra Ackley's reappointment to the Planning Board, Michael Collegg-Nazy's elevation from Planning Board alternate to regular member following the departure of member Arno Bonafasson, and the reappointments of Amanda Richards and Helen Boyle to the Historical Commission, all for three-year terms running July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029. The subcommittee also recommended payment of a prior-year bill of $117.79 tied to a rescinded $1 million federal urban forestry grant, a step the town manager said is necessary to lift an encumbrance on the town's free cash allocation; that item will require a two-thirds vote of the Town Council under state law governing prior-year bills.
